Date, Time and Location
The ceremony and reception will take place at King Family Vineyards in Crozet, 10 miles west of Charlottesville.Saturday, July 9th, 2005
Five-thirty, p.m.
Attire
The weather will be hot, so we recommend that you dress comfortably. Officially, the dress code is a blazer and tie for the men, dress for the women. However, please keep in mind that it can get close to 90 degrees in Virginia this time of year, so please do not feel like you have to keep that coat on, men! The women should also be aware that the ceremony will be held on the grass, so you probably will not be comfortable in very pointy heels. The reception will be under a tent, but the wedding is out in the open air.Schedule
Rehearsal, 5:30 p.m., King Family Vineyards
The Wedding Party (you know who you are) will meet at the vineyard at
5:30 to go over the actual wedding ceremony.
Prenupapalooza '05, 10:00 p.m., The Biltmore
Caitlin's brother, Luke, has been busy planning the pre-wedding party of the century! Luke
will be hosting all guests of legal drinking age at the
Biltmore Bar & Grill
from 10:00 pm onwards. The evening will feature music by the critically-acclaimed
Luke Anderson Band
and lots of fun-filled college-esque debauchery. Children accompanied by their parents
may be able to attend early in the evening, but we cannot guarantee that bar security will
let them stay. The Biltmore is located on Elliewood Avenue in UVA's "Corner" district. It
is walking distance from the Hampton Inn, and there is a small parking garage adjacent
to the restaurant.
Groom's Games, 11:30 a.m., The Lawn
The Groom (yes, I just referred to myself in the third person!) will be hosting a game of
either Fat Bat or Frisbee, or both, or maybe even both simultaneously, for all who are interested.
Opening pitch is at 11:42 AM. (If anybody wants to sing the Star-Spangled Banner beforehand, let me know.)
The game will end after nine innings, or when the stank July humidity forces everyone off to the showers,
or when 2 o'clock rolls around. Not sure which will come first. Meet in front of Pavilion 10 or find
the large group of rambunctious people. You are welcome to join for just part of the game. (Wimp.)
The Wedding & Reception, 5:30 p.m., King Family Vineyards
The ceremony will commence at 5:30 p.m. sharp, so plan to get there no later than 5:15 (that's 3:30 for
the Europeans). A map and directions were sent with your invitation. You can also visit the Vineyard's website
at www.kingfamilyvineyards.com for further information
about the location, as well as directions from various points throughout Virginia. Click
here for a printable map and directions.
Post-Wedding Party, 11:00 p.m., Michael's Bistro
If you're still awake, the happy couple would like you to join them for post-wedding festivities
at Michael's Bistro
on the Corner. Michael's Bistro is located on University Avenue and is walking distance from the
Hampton Inn. There are numerous parking lots and garages near the restaurant.
Choose your own adventure
There are no organized events on Sunday. The very, very tired Bride and Groom leave for Thailand at 6:00
a.m., so if you've got something to say, you had better say it at the reception! We strongly
encourage our out-of-town guests to sample some of the activities that Charlottesville has to offer.
Monticello, in particular, is a must-see for those who have never been before. For more ideas,
see our Charlottesville page.
